These flowers appear in huge numbers every fall, creating quite a late-season display. This camellia shrub is often compared to the Shi Gashira Camellia due to its low-growing nature. At maturity, it reaches only 3 ft. to 4 ft. tall and 4 ft. to 5 ft. W, making it an ideal choice for a low-maintenance hedge or border. This camellia is hardy from USDA Zones 7-9, however, it is recommended to take Winter precautions for the first growing season. It grows best with about 3-hour to 4-hours of direct Sun or all-day filtered Sun. Plant in rich, slightly acidic soil for best results. Water 2-3 times per week for the first growing season. It's recommended to apply 3 in. to 4 in. of mulch to protect the roots from extreme temperature fluctuation. Add fertilizer in Spring with a slow-release acidic plant fertilizer. These camellias are well-rooted in a 2 Gal. pot and will range from 12 in. to 16 in. Tall with a wider spread. They are not guaranteed to be in bloom upon arrival.
